My Story

I was born in Wisconsin, but I moved to Texas after my first year of teaching. I was married for almost 26 years before becoming a widow in 1999. I have one daughter who attended SACS K-12, graduated from Texas A&M, and now lives in Dallas. My “roommate” is a little rescue dog named Oscar who has only three legs but is not slowed down at all.

What church do you attend?

I have been a member of Castle Hills First Baptist (now known as Mission City Church) since 1980 but have recently been visiting new churches to see where the Lord will move me!

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?

I have been immeasurably blessed by my time at SACS. Being able to teach from a Christian perspective brings so much more depth to all that I do in the classroom. I believe that the true meaning of “college prep” goes far beyond academic readiness. I am humbled by being a part of that process. Also, I truly see the SACS community as a family, and I am so grateful for the many relationships I have formed.

Favorite Bible verse

Psalm 91:2 – I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”

What are your hobbies and interests?

I have had a life-long love of reading, I am interested in exploring nutrition and healthy cooking, and I enjoy gardening.
