My Story

I married Becky in 1982, and we left Texas for California where I acquired a master’s in biblical counseling. We came to San Antonio where I took a pastoral counseling position at a local church. After five years, I began teaching middle school Bible at SACS (1990). I fell in love with the students and especially the mission of the school to partner with parents to help them fulfill God’s unique design and desire for each of their children. Both our sons attended SACS K through 12th grade, my wife was on staff for almost 13 years, and now my oldest son teaches here (and his oldest two are students here). I love the way God has faithfully partnered with my family through SACS!

What church do you attend?

Hillside Fellowship Church in Spring Branch

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?

I have worn many “hats” over the years, from teaching and coaching to administrating in so many different capacities (MS Principal to Interim Superintendent). What I have loved most about serving in all those roles coupled with being here all these years is seeing the constancy of God’s faithfulness to His ministry through SACS every step of the way despite our faults. He redeems it all. He is so good!

Favorite Bible verse

John 3:17 – “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through Him.”

What are your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy camping with my wife, spending time with our sons, their wives, and our eight grandchildren, and working/relaxing in my yard. I also “tinker” around on the guitar and with my ’66 Mustang fastback.
