My Story

My husband, James, and I met at church while in college and married in 2002. We have one daughter, Bizzy, who attends SACS. James is a proud SACS alumnus-class of 1997. Before joining SACS, I taught Pre-K/Head Start and served as an Elementary Instructional Coach in Reading for SAISD. At SACS, I’ve taught 1st grade, served as an Online Facilitator during COVID, worked as a substitute teacher, and now work in the Library and Technology Center. I feel deeply at home in the library, where I have the opportunity to help students grow in their knowledge of God and who He created them to be through literature and learn to honor Him in the digital world.

What church do you attend?

Crossway Bible Church in San Antonio

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?

What I love most about working at SACS is the opportunity to watch students grow over the years and build lasting relationships. While academic excellence is a priority, SACS goes beyond by emphasizing the whole child, especially in discipling students to know God personally and share His love with the world.

Favorite Bible verse

Matthew 22:34-40 – “But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together. One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

What are your hobbies and interests?

I have many hobbies: reading, creating art – especially watercolor and charcoal, creating props and sets for our SACS theater department, and spending time with my family, dog, and two library turtles.
