My Story
After 21 years of farming and ranching in Uvalde, our family returned to San Antonio, where my husband, John Robert, and I grew up. Briggs, 21, graduated from SACS in 2022 and now attends Texas Tech University where he is studying Geology. Kash, 15, is a freshman who loves SACS and playing baseball. When we visited SACS, I knew it was the right place for our family. I started as a third-grade teacher and now serve as the elementary STEM teacher. Over my career, I have taught Pre-K through sixth grade, and by far this role is my favorite. I am honored to love where I work, serve alongside incredible people, live my faith openly, and teach my students to do the same.
What church do you attend?
Crossbridge Community Church in San Antonio
What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
I loved our farm and small-town farm life, I worried that taking my boys away from it might be the wrong decision, but I trusted God. SACS feels like a small town within the big city. The community supports one another, shares our family’s faith, and loves Jesus. The staff prays for each other, our families, and our country, sacrificing so much for the success of every student. This is more than a school—it’s home.
Favorite Bible verse
Luke 12:7 – “But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.”
What are your hobbies and interests?
For over a decade, I designed unique jewelry from vintage and antique materials. Though I’ve paused this business, I still create pieces, redesigning homes, decorating, and helping with event planning in my spare time.
