My Story
I grew up in Albuquerque New Mexico in an amazing little community called the South Valley. Living in this special place shaped and molded me for the work that I’m so passionate about when advocating for students and families. In 1998 I married my very best friend, Jason. We lived briefly in Camp Lejune N.C. where he was stationed in the USMC, then returned to Albuquerque to dive into a life of continued public service as a law enforcement officer and educator in our community for 20+ years. We have two fabulous teenagers, one in high school and another in college, they are truly incredible humans! In 2021 our family relocated to Texas after my husband retired from law enforcement. We’ve enjoyed this season of change, the difference of pace, and all the wonderful people God has placed in our lives throughout this journey.
What church do you attend?
Redeemer Presbyterian Church in San Antonio
What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
I love being at SACS, mostly because we have the freedom to talk about Jesus and about walking and living in faith. There is a refreshing peace about being able to counsel using the only standard that matters, Biblical truth.
Favorite Bible verse
Proverbs 4:20-27 – “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. 21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. 24 Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. 26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Being with my family is my greatest joy! I love the outdoors, bike-riding, paddle boarding, and all things beach and mountains!
