My Story

I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl. I loved school and all aspects about it, especially math! I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an Accounting degree. I became a CPA and practiced as a corporate tax accountant for about 10 years. However, my original love and passion was the desire to teach math. I was blessed to be able to return to college in my 30’s. This is my 19th year of teaching and my sixth year at SACS. I LOVE it here! I have been married to my husband Mike for 36 years and we have 4 children and 1 granddaughter. Our kids range in age from 20 to 34! God has blessed me abundantly!

What church do you attend?

Coker Methodist Church in San Antonio

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?

I love being able to openly declare my dependence on Jesus Christ whether that is in front of the classroom, talking with girls in my huddle group, discussing things with colleagues, or just having a one-on-one conversation with a student. I love our students and families and the commitment to excellence in their education. Finally, given my experience in 2020 with Covid, I love that SACS is a family that prays and loves.

Favorite Bible verse

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

What are your hobbies and interests?

Some of my favorite things are triathlons with my husband, (he is a 3-time Ironman & I do mini sprints), hiking in the Rocky Mountains, Kansas City Chiefs football, crocheting, snow skiing, and all things winter!
