San Antonio Christian School is a college preparatory school that partners with families to provide students a Christ centered education (Pre-K through 12th Grade) while fostering a life of faith and service. Our goal is to commit every aspect of SACS to the glory of God. This includes the entire school system from the Board of Directors to the custodial staff, from curriculum to extra-curricular activities, from facilities to finances.

Applicants must show evidence of a strong Christian walk and a desire to mentor students in a uniquely Christian setting. Faculty and staff responsibilities include working in a highly collaborative environment, managing the day-to-day direction of their responsibilities, and partnering with parents for student success.

Position Type: Full Time/Part Time

Start Date: August 6, 2019

Requirements: Degree in teaching field, 3 or more years of experience and teaching certificate preferred.

Substitute Teaching Positions

Substitute teachers are expected to be mature in their Christian faith and have the ability to nurture this faith in their students. They must be able to manage an active class with a welcome measure of structure while maintaining a spirit of grace and community. In addition, substitute teachers are expected to possess the following:

  • Appropriate certification and exemplary academic credentials (preferred but not required).
  • Be able to demonstrate a variety of teaching practices.
  • Team building skills with a collaborative philosophy.
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and action towards others (Luke 6:40).
  • Evidence of the fruit of the spirit in dealing with people and actively participating in a local Bible-believing church.
  • Ability to work confidently and effectively with students, parents, and other staff members.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position: Development and Communication Assistant

Position Type: Non-Exempt/ Approximately 32 hours per week. (August – May)

Experience: Administrative experience, data-entry, prefer 2 years in a non-profit development office and/or communication/PR experience.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, some knowledge in financial accounting, detailed oriented, strong organization skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, able to handle confidential information apropriately, and manage databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administration support to the Development Office, Communications/PR Office, and Legacy Office.
  • Enter and update constituent/donor database; including contact details, relationships, notes, actions, gifts, and acknowledgments.
  • Process all thank you letters and honor/memorial cards for donations.
  • Assist in updating webpages and landing pages.
  • Assist in maintaining the social media profiles.
  • Assist in building e-newsletters.
  • Provide user support.
  • Coordinate Alumni and Fundraising Events.
  • Assist in communications and marketing for the school.

Position: Bus Drivers

Position Type: Non-Exempt/Variable Hours

Pay: $30-$40/hour bus routes; $15-20/hour field trips & athletic events.  Based on years of experience.

Start Date: August 14, 2019

The Bus Driver is to ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route. Safely operate a school bus to transport students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated locations.

Requirements:

Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B or Class A with Passenger and School Bus Driver Endorsements) or must be willing to obtain a valid commercial driver’s license.

Must be 21 years old.

Ability to pass alcohol and drug test.

Ability to pass bus driver physical exam

Ability to complete required bus driver safety training

Ability to operate bus safely

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to communicate effectively

Knowledge of student discipline procedure

Ability to manage student behavior
