My Story
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and have also lived in Missouri, Tennessee, and Oregon. A true blessing of my childhood was attending Christian school from 1st through 12th grade, which laid a strong foundation of faith and values that I continue to cherish. In 2017, I married my amazing husband, and we have two wonderful children, Marshall and Aubrey, who bring so much joy to our lives. Our family also includes our chocolate lab, Bexar, who keeps us smiling every day. We live in Canyon Lake, where we love spending time outdoors and on the water. Being part of the SACS community has been a tremendous blessing, and we are grateful to call it home.

My Story
I grew up with 5 older sisters in Indiana to a loving and supportive set of parents who worked extremely long hours to make sure we were taken care of (but they never made a note of it, so we never really knew how difficult things were financially for them.) We were the first generation in college and it has been a great joy of my life to be able to share the Word of the LORD with so many families. It has been a great blessing.
What church do you attend?
Baruch Hashem Messianic Congregation in San Antonio
What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
The openness to share Christ. Growing up in secular schools it took me a few years here to REALLY believe the school was ok with me openly discussing my faith, let alone encouraging it. It had been hammered in me so long by society, and even some ‘religious’ schools, to keep that private, it was revelatory that SACS was so supportive.
Favorite Bible verse
Acts 17:11 – “Now these people were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.”
What are your hobbies and interests?
It sounds weird, but I enjoy studying history, making timelines of biblical events, etc. I also enjoy having people over to enjoy a homemade dinner, play some board games, and make good memories.

The people! They are a passionate group of people who love Jesus and are committed to supporting our students.

My Story
My life starts in Austin Texas where my family owned the ABC baby shop, and we lived on top of it. I am #12 of 13 children. I learned to work at a very young age. I always wanted to own my own business. I attended UT at Austin and ended up with a tumbling and swimming business. I sold the tumbling company and came to SACS to teach and brought my Kinder and 2nd graders to school here. They learned to love the Lord here. I still run my swim school, where I teach many SACS students, and as they get older, some have even worked there.

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
I love the students I have taught here. When they move up to middle school, I still have relationships with them. A hug a day keeps the blues away. The Lord gave me a vision of what my role was here, that was to make children laugh, love their Savior, and pray with them when they are sad. I love driving to work and praising God for our beautiful campus.

My Story
I have always had a passion for youth, even being a youth pastor for a time, but I thought it was secondary and so I began a career in entertainment. After joining SACS, I found an old journal petitioning God for steady work where I could still “work with kids on the side.” I’m sure now, 20 years later, the Holy Spirit gets a kick out of my journey saying, “Yes daughter, but not on the side.” I am grateful that my background helps me think creatively when approaching methods of learning. Nothing is wasted with the Lord! I have a wonderful husband, Thomas, and two fantastic boys, Christian and Zach. I am grateful that God does do exceedingly more than we can imagine!

My Story
My wife Jackie and I have been married since 1990, and we were blessed with our two incredible children in 1997 and 2003. I’ve dedicated my entire professional career to serving in Christian schools, starting in 1990 in various teaching, coaching, and administrative roles such as Dean of Students, HS Counselor, Principal, Assistant HOS, then Head of School beginning in 1997.
My true passion and calling come with integrating the truth of God’s Word into all facets of the school and understanding theology’s critical role in the life of a maturing follower of Jesus Christ. It’s a unique privilege to support parents in helping their children see they are a unique creation and reflection of God, designed with intentionality and meaningful purpose.

Community Bible Church in San Antonio is our home church, and our family also enjoys visiting many Bible-believing churches in San Antonio and visiting with SACS families and pastors.
What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
Our TEACHERS! Any strong school has an even stronger faculty and staff culture that is focused entirely on teaching from a biblical perspective where Jesus Christ is preeminent in all things.
One of our spiritual themes is, “It’s not about us, it’s all about God.” This is taken straight from Psalm 115:1 which states, “Not to us Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory because of your steadfast love and faithfulness.”
Favorite Bible verse

I am San Antonio born, but Houston raised. My first love is food… I worked in the test kitchens of Southern Living magazine, developed recipes for over two decades for brands and clients, did food photography professionally, and authored a gluten-free food blog and cookbook. As an army family, we moved to San Antonio in 2019 and dove right into SACS with our three kids. In 2021, the Lord threw me a curveball and brought me here to teach. This school has been an unbelievable blessing to our family, educating and pouring into my kids, and to me individually, getting to contribute to the heart of the school, the hearts of these students, and the Kingdom of Jesus.

What an honor for Jesus to use me in their lives any way He sees fit. I so appreciate the hearts of my fellow teachers, how they seek the Lord, they pray for their students, and they truly want to be the hands and feet of Christ in their classroom while they strive for excellence in their content area.

After graduating high school, I fully recognized the role my teachers, coaches, and community had in my life. My husband, Kevin, and I met in college and married a couple of years after we graduated. We have three adult children, all of whom attended SACS from kindergarten to graduation. I felt called to teaching after I had entered the workforce after college, so I switched careers and enrolled in graduate school for education. God has confirmed that decision time and time again. SACS has been a huge part of our family. All my children’s teachers were Godly influences who helped support our family’s vision and were part of our kids’ spiritual journeys.

My Story
After college, I taught band in the Utah public schools for ten years. For the next twenty years, I was a professional musician, playing 225 gigs a year and doing a lot of arranging for studio sessions and live performances. In 1994 I started writing for the Oakland-based band Tower of Power. The Tower of Power horns have recorded or performed about 200 of my arrangements, including guest performances with WAR, Rufus, Dumpstaphunk, The Steve Miller Band, Journey, Jon Anderson of Yes, Jacob Collier, and 8-10 of the major symphony orchestras in the country. I was also involved in church music for about 40 years all together.

My Story
I married my college sweetheart, and we have three amazing children who each have an incredible spouse. We also have two beautiful grandchildren who have our hearts. Five years ago, we moved from Grapevine, TX, where we raised our kids. I was a teacher and administrator in GCISD for sixteen years where I served as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, and Director of the Early Childhood Development Center. We are so thankful God called us here. I joyfully make the daily commute from Boerne because where I live and where I work are both beautiful.

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
I love these kids and what I teach. The level of rigor in our Literature Curriculum doesn’t begin to compare to that of a public school. The interest level of my content area is fun and engaging for all of us. When asked, I am always happy to share that I “get” to teach Bible. It is a privilege and a gift from God. As a professional educator I have done many things, but my job at SACS is my “favorite job ever”.

My Story
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I am blessed with two wonderful children, Jessica, and Michael. And I have extended blessings from my children, and five grandchildren, Josiah, Jena, Hanney, Leo, and Aurora—all LIONS. In 1992 I shopped for a solid private Christian school for my children in San Antonio, SACS was my last interview. At the end of the interview, Mr. Alan Axtell prayed with us and let us know SACS would walk alongside us as a school and family. We enrolled at SACS, I began to volunteer, then later employed as Registrar—the rest is history!

I have been married to my husband, who is also a teacher at SACS, since 2017, and we have two wonderful boys, Ezekiel and Oliver. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. When I was finishing up at Bethel University, my two options for an internship were San Antonio and Honolulu. While I was hoping for Hawaii, God had a plan for me to settle in San Antonio. After completing my internship at a church, I worked at the church as a children’s pastor, and after a few years, I felt called to move to San Antonio Christian School in 2013. At the time, there was only an assistant position open, so I applied for it. During the orientation period, a kindergarten teacher position opened, and I was able to step in as the teacher. I have been in this position since then. It was amazing to see how God paved the way for me to follow my passion.

I grew up in Monroe, Louisiana, attending a small school very similar to SACS. After high school, I coached dance, trained as a seamstress for a local bag designer, and attended college at a local university. I thought I’d stay in my quiet hometown forever, but God’s plan is always better. In February 2020, as COVID shut the world down, my sister and I packed two weeks’ worth of belongings into her car and drove to San Antonio to stay with my mom and stepdad, and we haven’t left since. Shortly after, I began working at SACS and quickly fell in love with life in Athletics and the SACS community.

My Story
I accepted Christ as my Savior a few months before entering sixth grade. I was enrolled in a Christian school starting that year and began to grow in Christ. From this young age, I wished to be involved in ministry or serve Christ in whatever He called me to do. I attended Liberty University and graduated in 1985. It was there that I met David Hoeft. We married shortly after graduating. We have served Christ in various ministries in churches and Christian schools during the time that we have been together. Both of our children are proud graduates of SACS, and we are grateful for the lasting impact this community has had on our family.

I love teaching middle school students. SACS has allowed me the privilege of working with our students since 2001. Favorite Bible verse
Isaiah 40:28-31 – “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy reading, fishing, solving puzzles, and gardening.

After graduating, we married, and a couple of years later we welcomed our first son, Jack, and 1 year later, we welcomed our twin sons, Garrett, and Jim. Soon after, we moved to New Hampshire, and this is where I received my MAT in Spanish from Rivier University while at the same time beginning to teach. I was born in Michigan and have lived in Arizona, California, and I’ve been in San Antonio since 2021. I grew up with the dream of playing Major League Baseball. After playing at Glendale Junior College (AZ), I was drafted and signed with the Seattle Mariners. I chased that dream for four years and although I didn’t reach the big leagues, that time was certainly a gift from God. He was preparing me for His plan of teaching and coaching. I married my wife Cherie in 2006. We had three kids when God called us to be foster/adopt parents in 2010. We fostered 13 children and were able to adopt 11 of them. I am truly blessed with an amazing wife and a big family.

I had the privilege of marrying my best friend Sam in 2004. Sam is a SACS alum who started attending SACS in Kindergarten. He met his 2 lifelong best friends in kindergarten here. Many important memories in our lives have their roots in that class. Our three boys, William (born 2005), Philip (born 2007), and Luke (born 2013) have attended our beloved school, and, like their daddy, each have made lasting friendships here. As for me, some of the most precious moments of my life have happened in these hallways. I love Jesus, and I love literature. Sharing about both on this campus is among of my life’s greatest treasures.

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
I love my students. They say that, if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. I would not ever classify teaching as easy, but teaching in a place that honors God, promotes academic excellence, and seeks to grow the whole child is an assignment that, although difficult and arduous, offers tremendous meaning and fulfillment. Watching my students face challenges, learn, and grow is work worth doing.

After College, I earned a master’s degree in teaching from Whitworth with plans to someday be a head coach at a University. God had other plans. One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

My Story
Having a parent in college academia, I grew up being very comfortable in the collegiate setting. I met my husband as a freshman in college. While living overseas with the Army, I worked for a university as a registrar serving military personnel and their dependents. We came to San Antonio, and I spent many years working in the field of organizational development and strategic planning. We started our family here, and all four of our now grown kids are SACS graduates. I love getting to impact SACS families and help them with their college and career counseling. My goal is to see SACS graduates make the world better by serving the Lord in a variety of roles.

My Story
I have been happily married to my husband, Chris, since 2011. Together, we are blessed to be raising three energetic boys who have been part of the SACS community since their early years in Pre-K. In 2017, I vividly remember being in the shoes of the parents I now meet, as we visited schools and prayed for God’s direction and guidance. As Christian parents, my husband and I value how SACS partners with families like ours to nurture both academic excellence and spiritual growth in our children. Now thriving in 6th grade, 3rd grade, and Kinder, our boys are living examples of the transformative impact of a Christ-centered education. Before joining SACS, I spent several years working in the corporate world until I felt the Lord calling me to step into a role where I could serve this incredible community directly.

Hello, I am Juliet Saenz, and this is my story. The members of my family are my mom, dad, and older sister Rebecca (who graduated from SACS in 2015). I have two dogs: Isabeau and Navarre; and two horses: Texas Pete and Bonita. After attending SACS for 6 years (I graduated in 2016), this is my first-year teaching here. Looking back during my first years of teaching, I can see how God prepared me for this role by giving me opportunities to teach early childhood and a leadership position in the Sunday School program at my church. I blessed that God choose me to give the next generation of Christians the same Biblical teachings I received here.

I married Becky in 1982, and we left Texas for California where I acquired a master’s in biblical counseling. We came to San Antonio where I took a pastoral counseling position at a local church. After five years, I began teaching middle school Bible at SACS (1990). I fell in love with the students and especially the mission of the school to partner with parents to help them fulfill God’s unique design and desire for each of their children. Both our sons attended SACS K through 12th grade, my wife was on staff for almost 13 years, and now my oldest son teaches here (and his oldest two are students here). I love the way God has faithfully partnered with my family through SACS!

I grew up in Albuquerque New Mexico in an amazing little community called the South Valley. Living in this special place shaped and molded me for the work that I’m so passionate about when advocating for students and families. In 1998 I married my very best friend, Jason. We lived briefly in Camp Lejune N.C. where he was stationed in the USMC, then returned to Albuquerque to dive into a life of continued public service as a law enforcement officer and educator in our community for 20+ years. We have two fabulous teenagers, one in high school and another in college, they are truly incredible humans! In 2021 our family relocated to Texas after my husband retired from law enforcement. We’ve enjoyed this season of change, the difference of pace, and all the wonderful people God has placed in our lives throughout this journey.

Our teenagers, Emily and Ethan, attended SACS for a total of 20.5 years and we are thankful for the community that helped raise and point them to the Lord.
