My Story

I grew up in Colorado and went to college on the East Coast, where I studied Elementary Education and played volleyball. I now call Texas home with my husband and our beautiful daughter, Peyton. I have been teaching since 2012 and have been blessed to be called by the Lord to teach Elementary Art since 2020 here at SACS. I believe that God, the ultimate Creator, has gifted each of us with unique talents and the ability to reflect His beauty in the world around us. Helping my students explore their artistic gifts while encouraging them to see the connection between art, faith, and the wonder of God’s creation is truly rewarding.

What church do you attend?

River City Church in New Braunfels

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?

What I love most about teaching art here at SACS is in my classroom. Students are encouraged to think critically, experiment fearlessly, and appreciate art through the study of different artists and mediums, all while celebrating the creativity God has instilled in us all. I am grateful for the opportunity to shape students not only as artists, but as lifelong learners who appreciate God’s truth, goodness, and beauty.

Favorite Bible verse

Ephesians 2:10 – “For you are God’s masterpiece created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for you to do.”

What are your hobbies and interests?

Outside of teaching art, I love spending time with my family, playing volleyball, spending time outdoors camping & hiking, traveling, painting, and reading books!
